ISO9001:2015 Quality Management System

Island Steel UK Ltd regards quality management to be paramount to the continued success of the company.

Whilst already having in place a full and successful set of training and management procedures, in 1998, it was decided that Island Steel UK Ltd would register for approval for its quality management systems under the ISO9001 standard.

Internal and external auditing takes place regularly and the company is proud to have now been accredited to ISO9001 for over a fifteen years.

In May 2019, following an update of the ISO9001 to he current 2015 standard, Island Steel UK Ltd decided to add UKAS accreditation to its existing standard.

ISO45001:2018 Health and Safety Management System

All aspects of Health and Safety are of the highest importance to Island Steel UK Ltd.

Due to the increasing pace of legislative changes and greater corporate responsibility, it was decided that the company’s Health & Safety Manager, Alicia Anderson, should train and qualify to NEBOSH standard.

In October 2007 Mrs. Anderson achieved NEBOSH Level 3 certification in Occupational Health and Safety. Additionally, three member of staff have completed training and received IOSH certification.

In May 2018, it was decided to seek ISO45001 certification for our Health and Safety systems and later that year, certification was achieved. Driven by a desire for continued improvement and greater accountability, UKAS accreditation was added to this standard in May 2019.

ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System

Island Steel UK Ltd has always taken a responsible attitude to its impact on the environment.

Every aspect of the business has had environmental issues taken into consideration from the design concepts used in building our factory and offices to the use of recycled materials wherever practical.

It was a natural step therefore that in 2002, it was decided that Island Steel UK Ltd would register for approval for its environmental control systems under the ISO14001 standard.

In May 2019, following an update of ISO14001 to the current 2015 standard, Island Steel UK Ltd decided to add UKAS accreditation to its existing standard.
